“I am a proud Indigenous Australian, husband and father. I grew up in a volatile home environment; experiencing trauma, abandonment, violence and exposure to substance abuse. The wounds of these experiences carried through to my adult years, resulting in a life of toxic and destructive behaviours including my own alcohol and substance abuse. I was unconsciously walking through life not caring about the next week let alone the next day. I was weak and ignorant of the fact that what goes up must come down.
When I was forced into retirement from a 23-year professional boxing career I was left with an immense void in my life. I struggled with anger, guilt, shame and a complete lack of self-worth. For years the weight on my shoulders was immense. I was in a dark place and came to the realisation that I couldn’t continue my life like that. I chose to take control of my life for the first time, allowing myself to be vulnerable by stepping into a journey of self-healing and personal development for myself and the hurt little boy inside. I now realise that true courage lies in vulnerability.
Through the discovery of breath work, I have been able to heal myself as a man and heal my inner child who craved so deeply to be loved. I now walk through life with self-awareness and pride, no longer carrying that weight on my shoulders. I stand proud knowing the challenges I’ve faced and how far I have come. I want to help our community to reach the healing and change in themselves that I have seen in myself; to live a life of peace.”
“Hurt people hurt people.
Healed people heal people.”
“My personal development journey began with an awareness around how lost I felt just going through the motions of life and functioning at a very surface-level existence. The pressures and stresses of everyday life, maintaining relationships and then becoming a new Mum highlighted a complete disconnection from myself, a loss of identity and the lack of aspiration that I felt.
This awareness ignited my desire to go inwards, desperate for something more. For years I had dabbled with self-development courses and self-help books until I experienced my first breathwork session. Trent and I discovered breathwork together at a couples workshop, and we haven’t looked back since.
Through breath work, I have nourished a deep connection to myself, to my spirituality, to higher consciousness and my purpose. I have been able to heal old wounds and develop confidence and self-assuredness I didn’t think was possible. It is my mission to help others experience what it can feel like to step out of the shadows of our past experiences and who the world has told us we should be. I am grateful to support our community in allowing themselves to be authentically seen.”
From time to time during group events and workshops we may call on some of our Revival Remedy brothers and sisters to assist in supporting our breath work sessions. Members of our support team have each been specifically selected for their expertise and have all undergone Breathwork and Facilitation training with the best in the business at Mens Medicine.
We adore our Revival Remedy family and know they are honoured to be in service to our community.
